I get it and it does suck, (I don't have a switch, so I feel like I'm missing out too), but I don't think the decision was made as an aggressive money-making decision. They must have figured that the best way to make up for the extra content was to make it exclusive (at least for the time being). They need something to fund this nostalgic challenge. So can you really blame them for wanting to make new content?īut this extra work isn't free. This is especially tempting because you already have the incredible systems (combat, movement, environment) premade. Your looking at all this, and you're just thinking, "You know what, I think I could do even better now." You remember what is was like working on this project: all the unfinished/scrapped features, the workflow, old code and art, etc. The decision is made to port your old project to the Switch, and so you get working. Think about it: you've moved on to new projects, you're craft is more mature, and your knowledge of game design has deepened. I think it just stems back to the fact that this is a team of artists revisiting and old project. I really don't think that greed was the motivator for exclusive content on the Switch.
